ATARI Donkey Kong, Pac Man & Space Invaders Flash Back

Sunday, February 18th, 2007

I just wanted to share this funny clip of a Futurama episode. This will be back flash memories for people who use to play the ATARI game systems when they were a child. I know for me it did bring back flash backs.

by Das Brain

On Thursday, I was cooking and my wife called and told me that she was invited to go to a restaurant and experience the restaurant on the owner’s tab. The owner was one of the parents of the kids that my wife looked after at the day care. So, even though I was in the middle of cooking I stopped what I was doing and we went to check out the restaurant.

Teaching Kids, Teenagers, Students About Money

by Das Brain

If you are a person who does not manage your money very well, have you ever thought why that is so?

I have, when I was in my mid-twenties, and I can attribute some of it to my personality, friends and lack of financial education. In school, whether it was public school, junior high and even high school there was pretty no course which taught “personal finance 101.”

New U.S. Dollar Coin

by Das Brain

This is just a short blurb on the new U.S. dollar coin.

Canadians have had our one dollar coin called the “loony” for a long time. It’s called a “loony” because there is a loon bird engraved on the coin so I wonder what nick names Americans our going to give the new U.S. dollar coin. How about “the George”, because I think “Washington” is already taken for another bill denomination, just a suggestion. We will see.

Does Your Credit Card “Benefit” You In Anyway?

You must be asking yourself, what in high heavens does Das Brain mean?

Well, let me put it this way. Does it give you any sort of reward points? Like Air Miles, Sony points, points for department stores or a certain hotels / airlines?

Next question to ask yourself is, does the credit card charge you an annual fee?

Vehicle Of Choice - Hybrid Car and Superbike

by Das Brain

If money was no object what would be your vehicle of choice?

Most people I know will most likely go for a Super sports car like a McLaren F1 or something of that nature, but I would rather much have something that is lighter on the gasoline. The McLaren F1 gives you 6 to 7 miles per gallon as stated in a car show that I watched yesterday. That’s insane, but the car is also insanely fast with 667 hp. The McLaren F1 also cost a cool million dollars, its basically a Formula 1 race car with a body on it, made for the streets, but very impractical for the streets as the car show pointed out.

Wonderful Winter Wonderland

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

Gotta step out to meet my wife at the day care where she works, but don’t have much time to blog. I’ll just leave you with this quick blurb.

Woke up this morning to roughly 20 cm (8 inches) of the white stuff called snow. :)

Winter Snow

Man it was a lot, and I have to drive in this weather too with my small car. Good thing I’m skilled at Canadian winter driving. I guess people in New York, and various other States in the U.S are experiencing the exact same thing.

living beyond your means

Most of my posts recently have been about stock, option trading and my internet ventures, so I decided that it is about time I write an article on the subject of personal finance.
