Discount Broker Review #1a – TD WaterHouse Web Broker Platform Has No Sell Stop Order For Options

by Das Brain

This is an addenum to Discount Broker Review #1 – TD WaterHouse Web Broker Trading Platform is Outdated.

In addition to the TD Web Broker platform being outdated, for investors who want to trade options there is no way for them to set “Sell Stop” or “Stop Loss” orders.

Why you ask? The answer is easy, because for some reason the dumb ass programmers of this platform forgot to put a “Stop Loss” order type in (see picture below). A while back I went to try and place a stop loss order on few of the options contracts , but when I tried to find stop loss under order type, it was no where to be found.

TD Web Broker Platform no stop loss orders for options

This really stinks, because for any option trader that would like to limit their losses, well basically they cannot limit losses with TD Web Broker platform, that is so crappy. This means the investor has to sit in front of the TD Web Broker platform and wait to put in a sell order (what a waste of time) or incurr a loss because this feature was not put into TD Web Broker.

Like I mentioned before, I can’t wait until the day I clear all my open positions in my TD Web Broker account and move all my assets over to OptionsXpress Canada or my InterActive Brokers account.
